How to Find and Dig Up Dirt Mounds | Baldur's Gate 3 (BG3)｜Game8? ›

In order to find Dirt Mounds, players will need to explore the map of Baldur's Gate 3. Every now and then, you will get a Survival Check while out and about. If you pass this successfully, it will usually reveal Dirt Mounds that you can dig up using your shovel.

Put a shovel on your item hotbar. Click it. It'll let you target an area to dig in. Just click around the area you failed the check and it'll dig up the treasure.

The Shadow-Cursed Shambling Mound is a mini-boss that shows up in the Shadow-Cursed Lands during Act II, and it can be found in a destroyed tower just northwest of the Shadowed Battlefield waypoint (X: 25 Y: 55). Once you reach the stone steps, the shambling mound should be visible.

If they are "Downed", click on them with a non-Downed character to use "Help". Or heal them with a spell, throw a potion, whatever. If they are "Dead", cast Revivify (spell or scroll).

North of the injured mind flayer and west of where you find Laezel captured, you'll find a shovel sticking out of a dirt mound. This is likely the first place you'll find one.
